The Boston GuitarFest Academy program is a classical guitar intensive for students ages 16-20*, running 7 days from June 24-30 (two days before The Institute begins). Academy participants will receive 2 extra days of tailored instruction, masterclasses with GuitarFest guest artists and faculty, including Eliot Fisk, private guitar lessons with NEC faculty and alumni, seminars and workshops on music theory, technique, competition preparation, career development and healthy practice, and ensemble rehearsals and coaching. Participants can also sign up at NO ADDITIONAL COST for a competition exclusive to the Academy. Participants also receive full access to all GuitarFest concerts, the Vendor Expo, and other events related to the GuitarFest Institute program.

* Recommended Ages. Skill level may also be taken into consideration

Participants will receive:

  • 2 extra days of tailored instruction
  • Masterclass with faculty: Joaquin Clerch and Eliot Fisk*
  • Lessons and mentoring from BGA faculty: Bruce Holzman, Jerome Mouffe, Zaira Meneses, Maarten Stragier, and Adam Levin.
  • Guitar Ensembles, with private coachings and a final performance opportunity on Sunday, June 30
  • Study closely with guest artists as well as a lesson with Institute Festival Performing Faculty.
  • Full access to all Institute Program events, as well as GuitarFest concerts.
